I never let the mic magnetise me no more!

At Krosswerdz, faith meets hip hop culture.
If you’re down with emceeing, turntablism, graffiti, b*boying & beatboxing then hook up with the krew at Belmore on the last Saturday of the month.

What:       Lesson five: EMCEEING
Where:    Belmore PCYC: 332 Burwood Road, Belmore
When:    Saturday 25.7.2009
Time:       Hip Hop jam 6:30 - 8:00pm
          Dinner / cypher / chill 8:00 - 9:30pm

Going down this month will be the final instalment of the Krosswerdz Hip Hop Elements series.

In the place and set to crush mics will be Sydney crew Free Form and also ready to rock the mic with absolute intensity is Melburn emcee, Phenomena.

Since the focus will be on the emcee, we’ll also present a workshop on rhyming structures and mic techniques.

You can also expect emcee games (what?), delicious food from Kristy D and DJ Android will be dropping ill head-nodding breaks for you to get down to!

If that wasn’t enough the Krosswerdz emcees will perform an ‘emcee themed’ track written exclusively for the nite and we’ll also have CD and hoodie giveaways!

Don’t forget our open mic & floor session too. So if you emcee, beatbox or b*boy practice up and get ready to do yo’ thing.

At the Sydney jams we will be celebrating, educating and rocking the elements of true school hip hop culture. Expect performances, mini workshops and lessons from those who are skilled in the ways of each of the elements.

April 25: B-boying - Psalms Crew

May 30: Beatboxing - Journey and Rival

June 27: Graffiti - Mistery?, Jesta, Mask.One, Dums, Sper2 + Sear

July 25: Emceeing

Part of the reason why Krosswerdz started was to provide a performance space for up and coming hip hop talent. So if you’ve been working on rhymes, beat-juggles, outlines or b*boy routines then Krosswerdz is the place to get loose!

just a shout out to the guys from Free Form...
Today I had that track on replay in my head... the one that goes...

LOL... and those are the only lyrics I know...
would love to get some more of their stuff though...so anyone wanna help a sister out?

Also a big thanks to the team for putting everything together...despite the delay...LOL
Had an awesome night and looking forward to kickin it with you guys again...

Yay! Our first fan! haha... man we really enjoyed hitting Krosswerdz last night, the message was great and the vibe was awesome!

Thanks for the encouragement missy... we got a myspace http://www.myspace.com/freeform there's a few songs up there, although not the "down/up" song which is called "Am I Blue?" but we're looking to get out a free mixtape very soon with that and a bunch of other tracks, so be on the look out.

Also you should come and jam with us on the 7th of August, the Krosswerdz dudes are in on this gig as well so it should be a real fun night of hip hop... check the deets...
