Thank you for letting the KW family know about Enoch. I've been praying for the James family and yesterday on The Gospel Show (88.1FM in Sydney) I mentioned it and played Introducin' from The Cross Movement's House of Representatives album as a tribute.

From the Werd… Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him. As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, "Don't cry." Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said, "Young man, I say to you, get up!" The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. They were all filled with awe and praised God. "A great prophet has appeared among us," they said. "God has come to help his people." This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country. Luke 7:11-17

From the Werd…
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds.
I'm going to be in Brisbane between Friday 3rd and Monday 6th July.
If anyone's keen to hook up especially on Sunday - go to church and talk KW/hip hop ministry please hit me up.
Friday I was planning to go and check out Rocking Horse & Butter beats records stores and Saturday I've got a Flatland BMX comp at Milton tennis courts.
I'm doing a Gospel Hip Hop radio show too and need AUS Gospel Hip Hop. If someone could hook up some QLD material for me (PJay, Broadkast, Floyd & Sparks...) that would be greatly appreciated too.
I know Revel8 has been praying for and thinking about starting KW Brisbane.
I'm coming up to Brisbane on the weekend of the 4th July for a flatland BMX comp but I was hoping to do some KW business while in town.
Maybe have a werd with REVEL8, PJAY, BROADKAST and DJP and see who's keen.
From what I can work out it seems as though people are hoping that a ministry to the hip hop community will start but the person to set it off, unite the Christian hiphoppers for the ministry and lead the charge is yet to come forward.
I know that if someone was willing to put the wheels in motion the SYD Krew would make it a priority to get up to Brisbane/Gold Coast to be there and support.

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

NEWS The Krosswerdz team has hit 2009 running with plenty of stuff already going on in January. A big hip hop highlight for Mistery?, Oakbridge & Android was attending the official opening of the Liverppool Street University. Guests of honour were none other than hip hop legends Public Enemy. Chuck D hosted an open mic session and all the emcees in the place got the opportunity to rip freestyles. Dj Lord cut up beats and also did his My uzi weighs a ton turntablist routine. Mistery? has since returned to Liverpool Street Uni to do a full production on the main inside wall.
The Krosswerdz team visited the Wedderburn Christian Camp (south of Campbelltown) twice to hold hip hop jams with the kids. The camp had a great atmosphere and we were privileged to witness a whole lot of kids make a decision to accept and follow Jesus.
Due to the dope response of last years Rock The Riff, Izzy is planning another RTR for early 2009. Details to come soon. So if you’re based in the Penrith / Cranebrook area stay tuned…
Record label: Krosswerdz Recordings The boys have been busy recording and we’ve got 4 releases planned for 2009. Wizdm Unrelenting, Oakbridge It is what it is, Mistery? The way of the warrior and Brethren Bastian. These albums will be released and launched throughout the year.
The record label is totally independent of Krosswerdz Incorporated (KW hip hop church) but has come into existence so as to be a launching pad for Australian Christian hip hop artists.
Also coming in 2009 to Krosswerdz Sydney will be a mobile recording studio. If you emcee and want a demo CD produced, Krosswerdz will have the facilities to make that a reality.
KROSSWERDZ & THE EMBASSY PRESENTS: THE BELMORE BEACH PARTY THANKSGIVING BBQ!
Belmore PCYC: 332 Burwood Road, Belmore
Saturday 29.11.2008

Krosswerdz & The Embassy are uniting to hold a giant community thanksgiving BBQ, beach party style.
For one afternoon only the PCYC is going to transform into a tropical paradise with golden sand, crystal clear water and palm trees. The invitation is open to all to come and celebrate the year that has been and to thank God for all his goodness to us.
We'll be celebrating the day with plenty of food & drinks, live Reggae style worship music, games for the kids, giveaways and the Krosswerdz sound system.
A whole lot more will be happening but the Krosswerdz crew are keeping it under wraps.
This will be Krosswerdz last gathering for 2008 so come down and represent.
Mystery prizes for the best Hawaiian shirts too.
Want to know more or would like to contribute in some way or another?
Please have a word with Pastor Evan @ The Embassy or Mistery? @ Krosswerdz.
I met your crew and we exchanged numbers. It might be on the cards for me to bring the wheels of steel out to Castle Hill one Fri/Sat nite and have a hip hop jam - garage party style.
I also saw your piece at Greenway Park yesterday - FRESH. I hope you've got photos, cause it won't stay up for long (unless by some miracle).
Yes, Saturday night was hype. Great people, performances, Werd, food and friendships.
Praise the Lord for giving us everyone & everything we needed for such a tight night and for what he's doing in each and everyone of us.
I'm pumped for Rock the Riff @ Penrith on the 22nd Nov and the Belmore Beach Party the week after.
I'm so sorry to hear that you've lost someone so special to you.
Unfortunately I can sympathise with you as the Sydney Hip Hop community has been mourning most of the year with the loss of a few very close friends.
If you want some good stories, please come to Krosswerdz this Saturday night at the Belmore PCYC. (332 Burwood Road, Belmore. Next to the train station)
You can see for yourself the living proof of the life-giving work of our loving God who has done something special in each one of us.
In the place will be people who have battled with alcohol and drug abuse but have come through it and now have a passion for life and have left the destructive ways that you mentioned behind.
One of the things that Krosswerdz does / is about is recognising that we're not all the same and seeks to encourage people with their identity and give people a place where they can feel comfortable to be themselves.
The October Krosswerdz is a special ladies night too. The B*girls of Krosswerdz are leading and performing throughout the night. You can expect to hear/see/meet female emcees, graff writers, singers and ladies who love to express themselves through hip hop.
Some words of hope and comfort My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:1-2
The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The Lord protects the simple hearted; when I was in great need, he saved me. Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. Psalm 116:5-7

KROSSWERDZ XXIII Where: In the dungeon of 93 Audley Street, Petersham (2 minutes walk from Petersham station) When: Saturday 28th June 2008 Time: Hook up @ 6:00pm for 6:15 start
What you can expect this month… Along with all the usual flavour of freestyle sessions, fat beats and dope food, Sydney emcee Long John is set to rip the mic and Pastor Barry will share a message from the Werd.
A message for the soul… Unfortunately for Sydney’s hip hop community 2008 has so far been filled with pain and distress caused by the tragic loss of Writers, Emcees, and Deejays. It is not simply that they were so young or that they were very talented people that we respected and have been taken from us that hurts so much, rather it is that they are people that mean so much to us. They are our family and friends. We shared our lives with them and they with us and together we did what we love to do; express ourselves through the sub-culture of the hip hop lifestyle.
When someone who we deeply care for dies we can experience a whole range of emotions and feelings. Sadness, despair, grief, anger, frustration, confusion, shock, hurt and a sense of great loss. Also, at a time like this we can find ourselves asking the deep questions about our existence and our understanding of it. Why is this happening? What does it mean? How can I manage without this person in my life? What is the purpose of my life? When will I die? What will happen after I die?
How do I respond to the death of someone I care for? Mourn for the person. It’s natural to be sad and to grieve for someone you love. If you need to, talk to someone and let them know what you’re thinking and feeling. Also, be willing to make yourself available to others. People may look to you for help and comfort. Although everyone will need time to be alone to deal with the situation in their own way, working though the death of a loved one shouldn’t be done alone. Everyone in the family and group of friends will be experiencing the same things you are.
Different understandings of life and death… Many respond to existence with, ‘that’s just how things are’. We have only one life and no one knows how long that will last so do what you want and can while you have the chance.
For some, seeing a broken world that is full of death, destruction, greed, oppression, exploitation, abuse and violence come to the conclusion that existence is a matter of everyone for themselves and the only person I can trust and rely on in this world is myself.
I want to suggest that there is a God who knows what is going on in our world and sees the pain we experience.
But so what about God!? What does God have anything to do with the loss of my friends? If there is a god, why did he/she/it let what has happened happen?
Firstly, God is a God who knows us and understands us. God knows us because he is our creator. God created the earth, the seas, land and sky and everything and everyone who dwells in them. That includes us. God created humanity. Out of all of creation humans are God’s most valuable work. Humans and humans alone are made in the image of God.
God understands us… God does not look down from heaven and watch us as the world destroys itself and the innocent suffer in silence without providing a way out. God knows what it is like to be human. God sent his son Jesus to earth to become a man. In Jesus, God became fully human and experienced life as we do. He worked as a carpenter, was part of a family, had friends, went to house parties and he also became distressed and wept when he found out one of his closest friends had died. God knows what it is like to be human because he has experienced it for himself.
God also knows what it is like to lose someone you love… As mentioned before we are made in the image of God. We are truly valuable to God. He loves us and cares for us. Because God loves us and we mean so much to him he sent his own son Jesus into the world to make it possible for us to have a personal relationship with him. Because of our rebellion against God Jesus had to do more than just teach the world about how God wants us to live with him and each other. As God is a God of justice a sacrifice was required to pay the penalty for the world’s rebellion (sin) against God.
That’s what Easter is all about and why it is such an important time. At the first Easter, Jesus suffered and died for the whole world, taking upon himself the punishment every person deserves for their sin against God. He also came back to life to show that he has authority over death and that whoever puts their trust in Jesus can receive forgiveness, everlasting life and a relationship with God which starts now and continues with God for eternity.
All these points I have taken from the Bible. I wanted to share this with you so that I could reveal to you a genuine and living hope and comfort. God is forgiving, merciful, compassionate, patient and peace-making. God is love and God loves us.
To finish, some verses of Scripture which I hope will speak to you: Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Saviour and my God. Psalm 42:11.
Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30.
With all sincerity and on behalf of the Krosswerdz team,

News This month will be the last time that Krosswerdz is held at Petersham. FROM JULY KROSSWERDZ WILL BE MEETING AT BELMORE PCYC. 332 BURWOOD ROAD, BELMORE. On Saturday we will have a new flyer available which will have all the new details for Krosswerdz meetings for the second half of 2008.
Thank you to Petersham Assemblies of God Church for letting us use your buildings and facilities for the past two years. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and without it Krosswerdz could not have made the start that we have and done the things we have done in the last 24 months.
A special thank you to Pastor Barry and Val Korabelnikoff for giving us permission to use the buildings and taking care of the administration side of things. Thank you and may God bless you and keep you, now and always.
Embassy Launch The Embassy Church now meets at Belmore PCYC. The KW team helped out at the Embassy’s opening BBQ. Mistery?, Mask One, Pensil & Carlos pieced up some boards and Dj Dizzy cut up classic funk on the wheels of steel. Ever thought about checking out Church? The Embassy meets every Sunday @ 4:00pm.
Queen’s Birthday Weekend Jazz festival @ Darling Harbour Some of the Krosswerdz posse went to check out The Bamboos perform live @ Darling Harbour. Great band. If you love funk, check these Melbourne guys out.
Brisbane Oakbridge & Mistery? visited Brisbane for a weekend of shows, outreach rallies and networking. They hooked up with Reliant, DJP, Broadcast and Floyd & Sparks.
Bondi DJ Flagrant held his ‘Home Grown’ mixtape launch party on Friday night at Bondi Hotel. On the bill was Dj Ology, Mind Over Matter, Spit Syndicate, 13th Son, Brethren, Hijack & Torcha, Phrase and Nfa. Probably the tightest Sydney hip hop show I’ve ever been too. To close the night off Dj Izm & Flagrant did a freestyle turntablist team set. Killer way to finish the show. Skills. Skills. Skills!

Thank you to everyone who helped make our 2nd anniversary so fresh. Whatever you did; set up, perform, bring food & drink, serve, clean up, it’s all greatly appreciated. Without you the party wouldn’t have been what it was.
